Mipa 2K reactive additive VR is not simply a faster standard thinner. It is a reactive additive created for a very specific purpose: accelerating through drying in selected Mipa 2K HS systems. VR is an extra fast 2K thinner additive for faster complete drying, especially with 2K HS topcoats, and is added instead of the normal thinner.
That distinction matters because refinishers choose VR when the aim is not just to make the paint flash quicker, but to improve the deeper cure behaviour of the coating system. A major practical benefit is the way VR significantly improves complete drying at room temperature without shortening dust dry time, which means the flow is not negatively affected in the way a crude speed up can sometimes disturb the finish.
This makes VR especially useful in colder conditions and in winter work, where curing speed often becomes the bottleneck. VR also supports faster hardening during oven drying and can help speed up selected HS coating routes where compatibility is confirmed. VR is chosen when normal system behaviour needs a more decisive push toward full cure while the finished surface still needs to look right.
The 1 litre and 5 litre sizes are practical for both occasional use in demanding conditions and regular use in a faster coating routine. When full cure speed is the real concern, VR is the smarter buy than simply reaching for a generic faster thinner.
