MP StarTape Classic is a round foam masking tape for gap coverage up to 13 mm. It is used where openings and movable body joints need masking without creating a hard paint edge that stands out once the tape is removed.
The foam body sits into the gap and softens the transition, which helps prevent visible edge build up while also reducing unwanted paint mist entering the interior. That makes it useful around doors, trunk openings and similar sections where a clean hidden edge matters just as much as the visible outer finish.
Because the foam is based on a fine polyester structure, the tape supports a smoother result and keeps the masking step more forgiving than a flat paper tape pressed hard against the opening. It is also suitable for water based paint systems and is designed to handle normal paint process conditions.
StarTape Classic turns a tricky masking area into a cleaner and more repeatable step. It helps the gap stay covered, the edge stay softer and the finished transition look more intentional once the panel is opened again.
For opening edges, that softer transition is often the difference between an ordinary masking job and a more refined one.
