Mipa 1K Insulator 1 l

Mipa 1K Insulator is the problem-solving primer used when the old coating underneath is solvent-sensitive. It is applied before new solvent-borne paint systems to help stop the typical lifting, softening or bleed-through that can happen when fresh material attacks vulnerable old paint.

This matters most on older refinish jobs, thermoplastic coatings, alkyd-based layers and other uncertain substrates that cannot simply be treated like sound modern paint. Rather than risking a visible reaction after the colour has gone on, the insulator places a barrier layer between the sensitive old surface and the next solvent-borne coating stage.

Because it dries quickly and is ready for use, it fits well into repair work where the substrate condition is the main concern. It helps stabilise the job before topcoating instead of asking the painter to gamble on whether the old finish will stay quiet under fresh solvent exposure. That can prevent expensive rework on otherwise well-prepared parts.
