Mipa WPA 2100-40 is a practical coloured topcoat for wood when the finish has to do more than just add tone. It is intended for common kinds of wood and is named by Mipa for furniture, garden furniture, stairs, wooden floors and parquet, so it sits naturally in projects where appearance, protection and regular use all matter at the same time. The satin matt sheen gives the surface a more restrained, furniture-ready look than a gloss coating, which often suits custom colours on architectural and interior pieces.
The coating also makes sense from a handling perspective. It is water thinnable and can be applied by brush, roller, curtain coating or flow coating, giving flexibility across individual pieces and larger finishing sequences. On properly prepared timber, it forms a coloured finish that looks even, covers well and feels more robust in service than a purely decorative stain or lightly protected colour wash. Reliable surface toughness matters on stair components, chair backs, table tops and other pieces that are regularly touched, wiped and moved.
WPA 2100-40 is also useful when a project needs continuity across more than one substrate. Mipa documentation and supporting trade pages mention prepared compatible plastics such as PVC, ABS, PA, ABS-PC and PC, which helps when colour-matched details extend beyond wood alone. The result is a satin matt coloured finish with a professional, controlled appearance and enough durability for real interior use and sheltered exterior applications.
